Movables is a boutique furniture consignment store located in Highland Park, Saint Paul.
Movables mission is to connect everyone in the local community through a space to buy, sell, and experience furniture, decor, art, rugs, and jewelry. Movables strives to maintain an eclectic mix of high quality pieces that range in style.
Movables was founded by Kendra Anderson in the arts district of NE Minneapolis in 2009 before Kendra relocated the store to its current location in Highland Park, Saint Paul. Kendra is an upholsterer by trade with schooling in Interior Design. Her love of interior design, furniture, upholstery, and people inspired her to open her own shop. In 2019, Kendra stepped away from Movables to pursue her passion for sculptural welding. Today, you can find Kendra at Kendra WELDS.
Kate Kessenich took over ownership of Movables in January 2019. With a passion for community and all things design, Kate saw Movables as an opportunity to share her love for design with others in the local community. Prior to her work with Movables, Kate worked at the University of Minnesota helping run the Leadership Minor and teaching social entrepreneurship and leadership development courses. When not at the shop, you can find Kate at local concerts, practicing yoga, playing music, losing to her friends at Yahtzee and Monopoly Deal, running around with her 10 nieces/nephews, or wedding planning.
