HOW IT WORKS

What is consignment?  n.  an arrangement in which a seller sends goods to a reseller who pays the seller only when the goods are sold.  The seller remains the owner of the goods until they are paid for in full and after a certain period, takes back the unsold goods

Our consignment process...
  • For furniture, text or email a photo along with a description of your piece.  Include manufacturer, age of item, where purchased, original price, and any known flaws.  If accepted, we will then set up a time to take in the pieces.
  • For art and decor, text or email photos for approval before bringing in the items OR schedule an appointment for in-person approval.
  • The starting price will be made as a collaborative effort by the consignor & consignee based on the factors listed above
  • The consignment period is 90 days
  • When the piece sells the consignor will receive 55% for furnishings and decor & 60% for jewelry
  • After 30 days, if the item has not sold, the price will drop 15%
  • After 60 days, if the item has not sold, the price will drop an additional 20%
  • Checks are prepared during the first week of the following month for the entire previous month and mailed directly to consignors.
  • If the item has not sold by the end of the 90 day consignment period, the consignor has two weeks to pick up item(s).  After two weeks, Movables assumes ownership of your items and donates to local non-profit organizations
  • We can recommend a reasonably priced mover if you are unable to get the furniture here yourself
